Trained as a frequentist statistician, I became acquainted with the Bayesian approach while I was a post-doc with Byron Morgan. This encounter with Byron and Bayes was crucial and boosted my career. Byron was kind enough to embark me on my first book venture together with Steve Brooks and Ruth King (see here). I further worked with Ruth when I spent a year in StAndrews as a post-doc with Steve Buckland. This collaboration also led to a collaborative WinBUGS paper with contributions by Len Thomas, Simon Bonner and others. I’m doing my best to introduce the Bayesian way of analyzing data to the students of the Ecology and Evolution Master in Montpellier.
